Letter from Galatasaray University student Jana
30.03.2025
Dear friends,
I would like to start by saying that everyone here is well, don’t worry. We don’t have any problems and we don’t lack of anything.
We, students from various universities who have been at the forefront of the protests, are here and sticking together. There is an ongoing operation targeting university students who have been organising and actively taking part in the protests.
Our protests begin at a time where fascist attacks are growing more numerous and violent every day, all social movements are suppressed and shut down from the very start, and student movements are weakened.
The streets have once again become a fighting ground for students.
They cannot put a stop to it by arresting 100-200 people. As long as there still are people on the outside, even a single person, the movement will go on.
We greet you all and send our warmest hugs. We know you will keep the boycott, resistance and struggle going at the Galatasaray University. Now, a tougher job awaits you as the duties of the imprisoned also rest upon your shoulders. We have no doubt you will carry on!
